I don't know if you are aware but there is a consultation being run by the DCLG related to this issue and how these payments should be accounted for. See http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/localgovernment/seniorofficerspayconsultation I have an interest as a police authority member but also because I have been trying, unsucessfully, to find out what the pay off was to the former CEO of my district council after they agreed to a confidential arrangement. Please continue to push on this as they are using the cloak of the Data Protection Act to stop proper scrutiny of senior officers pay and benefits. Thanks Rob Thanks for this.
